Tabletop Gaming News already featured the Black Ops expansion and I've ordered mine! (Could you discuss the over-the-top shipping costs with your distributor? It's the one thing that makes me cringe about ordering.... And, yes, I've mentioned it to them....)

I am trying to figure out why you think that $6.00 or $6.50 is high for shipping? How much do you feel the shipping should cost? The minimum cost associated with shipping is $5.00. That is cost. It takes time to package the order for shipping as well. The price goes up as the weights of the packages go up too. I am very interested in your input
Thanks

If we are talking about the Survival Kit without the core deck it is about 14 ounces and with core deck 1 pound 3 ounces. We don't ship 1st class mail if that is where you are going with this. We ship via Priority mail or UPS. UPS to a residential address is $7-$12 for the weights we are talking about.

Still... considering that, were you to sell to a gamestore, the price would be reduced 30% to said store... so that your $20 contagion box w/core would net you $14.... Now, if you were to add to that the expensive postage, you'd top out at the original $20 and could offer "free shipping".... Instead, you made a retail profit plus charged for Priority mail.... Strangely, my kit came in a plain brown envelope, hence the crushing damage on one end.... Priority Mail ships in crush-resistant boxes....

Strangely, my kit came in a plain brown envelope, hence the crushing damage on one end.... Priority Mail ships in crush-resistant boxes.... I beg to differ with your conclusion. We have not rigged anything. First we don't offer free shipping to retail stores. Second the discount is higher than 30% for retail stores. Third, as a rule, retail stores buy multiple items and so their shipping costs are amortized over multiple products. Our highest cost in our overhead is shipping. We cannot afford to give it away for free. I do not know many that do? I just ordered 100 DVD's and 100 DVD cases. I was required to pay shipping on top of the order. I just purchased 1000 set up boxes today. I have to pay shipping. I am purchasing a UV Coating machine from over seas, I have to pay $800 shipping. I am really trying to see your point but I am missing something. If we don't cover shipping costs we are out of business, it is that simple. As for the packaging, I can ship anything priority mail in any packaging. I am not required to use the post offices priority mail boxes (we should of for yours). If you still have the padded envelope that your order came in you will see a large "P" in the upper left of the shipping label - that stands for priority mail. I could give free shipping on all orders. I just have to raise the price on all products by at least $5 to off set the balance sheet. In the end, it costs money to ship and someone, one way or another, has to cover those costs. If the cost of shipping is $5.00 and I charge an additional $1.50 for the order processing, I fail to see how that is over charging. It is not even a completely accurate statement because shipping can creep up above $7 or $8 depending on the weight and we still only charge the $6.50. So we loose money on these. Please let me know what I am failing to see in your examples. Thanks

I see and, from the company's point of view, understand. Someone has to make cost and profit in our wonderful country....
At the end of the day it still comes down to a consumer making a decision to raise the cost of his gaming habit, on a per-purchase basis, by wallet-wrenching amounts.... The only way you can justify the $800 shipping on your machine example is if it was "dirt-cheap" vis-a-vis local alternatives.... I replaced a transmission that "had" to be shipped from 12 hours away, by flatbed truck.... The combined shipping and cost were far less than local alternatives....
This all gets us back to the decision making of the consumer: The shipping is adding ~50+%
It's a very hard sale....
Perhaps you have, or can make arrangements, with a distributor so we can both be happy...?
Thanks for the candid responses.... Doug Harvey has a great game and deserves unfettered sales....

I'm not sure! I will find out tomorrow for you, that's the next time I see everyone. I can't comment on hold-ups or delays because manufacturing and distribution is not my part of the business. I help, but I'm not in control. I just make stuff. Doug
