Cohesion Tests are taken by units at various times during the battle, which tests a unit’s ability to continue to fight. It reflects the effects of loss of morale, battlefield fatigue, casualties; in short, unit cohesion. Cohesion Tests are taken when: • a unit drops one level of SP effectiveness as a result of a Kill(s). • a Command Card or Spell Card requires it • contacted by a Fearsome unit
Every unit has a Cohesion value. When a Cohesion Test is required, the player must roll one die and roll equal to or greater than the Cohesion number of that unit to pass the test. An attached Leader will add a +1 to the die roll. A unit that passes its test will remain in place on the battlefield with no further adverse effects. A unit that rolls less than its Cohesion will Rout.
There are times when a unit will receive a number of Kills that will result in that unit dropping two levels of SP effectiveness in that one Combat. That unit will still only take one Cohesion Test and not two.
