Hello there! After many, many months of building up the Endicott Epidemic board game and going waaaaay past my original release date (November 26, 2010), I'm finally there! I just have a few more weeks of playtesting and some component production decisions to make and then the game will be ready to hit shelves!
The *new* release date is going to be Saturday, November 26th, 2011 - exactly a year after it was supposed to come out. Here's the little press release blurb:
Endicott Epidemic: The Board Game - an action-packed game of survival and Zombie combat. Can your band of survivors escape the Zombie-infested village of Endicott before the town falls victim to an eradicating nuclear purge? Or will you become infected by the Undead and turn on your allies? The possibilities are endless in a game that utilizes randomization and custom structure mechanics that immerse players in a completely fresh scenario with every new round of play. Coming November 26th, 2011 from TOG Entertainment.
MSRP: $44.99
Released: Saturday, November 26, 2011
Designer: Douglas Harvey
Publisher: TOG Entertainment
I don't want to spoil too much about the game all at once, so I'll tease you with a few goodies and give everyone some more info as the weeks go by. First up, let's take a look at our gang of Survivors:
Endicott Epidemic: The Board Game comes with ten playable "Survivor" characters, each with their own unique abilities and strategic tactics to battle their way though hordes of Undead. As new expansions roll out, even more playable characters will be available for you to take a stand against the Zombie Apocalypse.
And here's the box art! The game is so epic that it has to be packaged in a 19.75"x10.25"x1.5" box! There's a lot of stuff packed into this base game and this is AFTER I had to trim some chunks off to get it in there. Therefore, you can expect some pretty beefy expansions in the coming months including an expansion that uses a treasure/cash system that allows you to purchase items and weapon upgrades; and even an expansion with a Necronomicon, allowing one or more players to control the hordes of Undead with their own set of rules! How awesome does that sound?
Keep an eye out on the forum for more updates including a components breakdown, an overview of the board game's rules, Survivor character biographies/stat cards, more artwork previews and more! I may even post a video showing off the prototypes for you to drool over! More to come!
